1. WHAT IS YOUNG ARTISTS MANAGEMENT?

Young Artists Management is a Dublin based talent agency specialising in children and young adults. As Ireland's top children's agency, we represent both newcoming and established Actors, Models and Voice-Overs aged 0-25 years and offer the largest website of it's kind in Ireland.

2. HOW DO I APPLY?
We accept talent submissions throughout the year for our annual recruitment session. Applicants must submit a recent photograph of themselves along with a completed application form which can be submitted ONLINE or downloaded from our website here.

3. WHO IS CALLED FOR INTERVIEW?
Due to the large number of submissions that we receive, it is impossible for us to interview all applicants. We only call applicants for interview if we are interested in offering them representation with our agency. If you are short-listed for interview, you will be contacted close to the time of our next Recruitment Day. Unsuccessful applicants will generally not be notified, but submissions will be reconsidered for future recruitment up to 1 year.

4. WHERE DO THE INTERVIEWS TAKE PLACE?
Our interviews take place annually in Dublin towards the end of each year.

5. WHAT HAPPENS AT THE INTERVIEW?
The interview will take the form of a typical audition.

The procedure varies depending on the age of the interviewee as follows:

0-3 Years: There is no preparation for applicants aged 0-3 Years. Applicants in this age category will simply be required to have their photographs taken on the day.

4-6 Years: Applicants in this age category will be required to prepare a short piece of dialogue from a tv commercial which will be provided on the day. They will read this on camera at the interview which will be followed by a photoshoot session.

7-15 Years: Applicants in this age category will be required to prepare a short excerpt from a screenplay. A choice of three excerpts will be provided on the day from which they must choose ONE to read on camera at the interview. Alternatively, if the applicant has a piece already prepared, they are welcome to perform this instead of the excerpts provided (duration should be approximately 1-2 minutes). The interview will be followed by a photoshoot session.

Over 16 Years: Applicants in this age category will be required to prepare a short excerpt from a screenplay. A choice of three excerpts will be provided on the day from which they must choose ONE to read on camera at the interview. Alternatively, if the applicant has a monologue already prepared, they are welcome to perform this instead of the excerpt provided (duration should be approximately 1-2 minutes). The interview will be followed by a photoshoot session.

Applicants are advised to allow at least 1 hour to include interview, photoshoot and preparation time.

6. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE INTERVIEW?
After the interview, a representative will present each interviewee (or parent of the interviewee) with a Registration Package which contains the terms and conditions of your representation with our agency. This may be taken home and reviewed. If the artist wishes to proceed with their registration, it should be signed and posted to our office before the deadline.

7. WHAT ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS?
Our full terms and conditions are available on our website here.

8. ARE THERE ANY FEES?

We do not charge interview or registration fees for our service. There is, however, a combined photographic fee and maintenance fee (payable only if you wish to proceed with your registration). This fee covers the cost of your studio session, photographic processing, your profile page on our website, the production of model cards and inclusion in our model catalogue and CD-ROM which is distributed to casting directors, advertising agencies, production companies and commercial photographers in Ireland. This allows us to provide each of our clients with a higher level of exposure to industry personnel. We have made every effort to make this as affordable as possible for clients and offer special discounts for families with 2 or more clients: 1 Client - €60 / 2 Clients - €80 / 3 Clients - €90 / 4 Clients - €100.

9. HOW DO I GET WORK/AUDITIONS?
Generally, casting directors and industry personnel will become familiar with your headshot by browsing our website or Client Book or from suggestions that we send in response to a casting brief. If they are interested in auditioning or casting you for a role, they will contact our office. We will then notify the artist with specific details of the appointment. This decision is always made by the casting director or production comapny (not Young Artists Management).

10. AM I GUARANTEED WORK/AUDITIONS?
No. It should be stressed that, due to the nature of the business, it is impossible for us to guarantee work/auditions for all of our clients. The fact that we represent such a large number of clients makes our agency appealing to casting personnel, but this also lowers the possibility of securing work/auditions for individual clients. We urge parents of clients not to rely on our service as a career for their child, but rather to view it as a hobby or casual part-time work without obligation. In line with the department of trade and industry rulings, no agency can guarantee work for an artist on their books. It is our policy, however, to only accept those that we feel would be excellent candidates for casting personnel and an asset to our agency.

11. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM CAST IN A PRODUCTION?
If you have been successfull at an audition, you will be contacted by our office. We will then negotiate a contract on your behalf and inform you of the relevant details. When working for the Commercial Client (normally a production company) the artist is expected to comply as far as possible with the punctuality and other reasonable requirements of the company and to conduct themselves in a proper and professional manner.

12. HOW DO I GET PAID?
You will be paid by Young Artists Management as soon as we have received payment from the production company and deducted our commission. Usually this happens within a month or so, but please be aware that certain clients can take up to 3 months to settle their accounts!

13. WHAT AMOUNT IS THE AGENCY'S COMMISSION?
Our commission ranges from 10% to 20% depending on the type of work undertaken as follows: Theatre / Radio = 10%; Film & Television = 15%; Commercials and Print Advertising = 20%. We reserve the right to adjust these rates at any time.

14. WHAT TYPES OF PRODUCTIONS ARE CAST?
Our client are involved in a vast range of productions. The majority of castings calls we receive are for tv commercials, feature films and television dramas. Our clients have also been involved in print advertising, voice-over and theatre work. Details of Recent Client Work can be viewed in the 'News' section of our website here.

15. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER COMPLETING ONE YEAR WITH THE AGENCY?
At the end of one year, you may be invited to renew your representation with our agency. In this case, you would be required to submit a Client Renewal Form and enter into a new agreement with the agency, the terms of which are published on our website here.
